My Loves

In my "About Me" I said that I'm a wife and mother of two precious children and that's true. But there wasn't room there to speak about how awesome my family is. I could probably type for years and never be able to express all the feelings I have for my crew.

My husband Craig and I have been together since I was 16 years old. We met unexpectedly at a friend's sometimes-boyfriend's house on a Friday night. He called me the following Monday and we've been pretty much inseparable ever since. We got married on March 25, 2000. Of course, like all marriages/partnerships/business arrangements/friendships, ours has not been without difficulty and bumps along the proverbial road but after all this time, we must be doing something right. I think that we came together and have weathered storms for reasons that have nothing to do with either one of us or our children. I've said before that I think God brought Craig in my life when He did to save me from myself b/c I sure wasn't doing myself any favors. He has put up with a lot from me and I've done the same for him but the investment has been returned many times over. I love his generosity and the way he loves our kids. It's super cute how he gets so excited over holidays and gift-giving and surprises--it's like a little kid. He's ambitious and motivated--much moreso than I and I appreciate that about him. I love you Craig!
Michael (Mikey) is our first-born. He's 5 and one of the sweetest kids I've ever met, really! He is mischevious and can have a smart mouth (like me) but he's got such a beautiful heart. He's so smart and such a boy. Mikey loves tractors and hunting and trains and is generally a lot of fun. He came along at just the right time for our family and is such a blessing. He's so handsome and friendly, I know I'll have the girls beating my door down one day. I look at him and can't believe I was only 24 when he was born--the time has just flown by so quickly!
Margo is our little spitfire of a girl. She's almost 3 and she is a freakin' trip. She's very articulate for a kid her age and she's also really smart and funny. She and Michael alternate between being best friends and each other's nemesis, like most siblings I know, but she is fiercely protective of her big brother. Margo is so cute, despite that fact that most folks say she looks like m! ;) God also brought her into our lives when we were having an otherwise tough time so along with her came a comfort and joy that only a new precious life can bring.

We are so very blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy family and I'm so thankful for them--even when I'm tired and at my wit's end. They are my anchor and what sets me free all at the same time. Like I said, I may get selfish sometimes and fail to appreciate them sometimes, but they always bring me back around. I wish I could tuck them in a pocket close to my heart and keep them by me all the time. I love them so much and am so grateful to have them in my life! xoxoxo
